Our client is a specialist short-term property lender providing flexible and fast bridging finance solutions to property professionals, developers, and investors across the UK. Having built a strong reputation as a direct lender, they are now expanding their operations with the launch of a brokerage division – designed to capture wider market opportunities and diversify deal flow.

They’re seeking a Brokerage Team Leader to head up this new function – an entrepreneurial individual with deep sector knowledge, strong broker and introducer relationships, and the drive to build a business from the ground up.

This is a rare and exciting role for someone who knows the bridging market inside out. You’ll initially operate as a one-person department, responsible for developing and leading the brokerage side of the business.

You’ll generate and manage leads from your network and other channels, working closely with the internal lending team to filter and “cherry pick” the best opportunities for the in-house loan book.

Cases that fall outside the lender’s criteria will be placed with external funding partners – creating a valuable revenue stream and enhancing service to introducers.

As the brokerage grows, you’ll have the scope to recruit and lead a small team, shaping the strategy, systems, and processes required for a regulated brokerage business.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the brokerage function from inception.
• Develop and manage relationships with brokers, introducers, and property professionals.
• Source new business opportunities and ensure a strong, consistent deal flow.
• Assess and allocate leads – deciding which to retain in-house and which to place externally.
• Build and maintain partnerships with external lenders to maximise conversion and commission opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with internal lending and underwriting teams to align goals and enhance outcomes.
• Contribute to the setup of systems, processes, and compliance frameworks as the brokerage scales toward FCA regulation.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a growing team of brokers as the division expands.

About You

• Strong background in bridging or specialist finance, with an existing network of introducers and brokers.
• Proven experience in originating and converting bridging/development finance deals.
• Entrepreneurial mindset – comfortable operating autonomously and building new structures.
• Commercially sharp, relationship-driven, and proactive in generating opportunities.
• Leadership potential with a genuine interest in building and scaling a team.
