Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (ADHD & Autism Service).

£140,000 – £160,000 per annum (DOE).

Full time (employed).

Hybrid working model available.

Progression to Clinical Director is obtainable in this post.

Essential Criteria:

• GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• CCT (or equivalent) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Experience in the assessment and diagnosis of ADHD and Autism in children and young people.
• Experience of prescribing and monitoring ADHD medication.
• Strong understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders and comorbid mental health conditions.
• Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver specialist ADHD and Autism diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents, in accordance with NICE guidelines.
• Undertake comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including developmental history, mental state examination, risk assessment, and differential diagnosis.
• Prescribe, initiate, and monitor pharmacological treatment for ADHD where clinically indicated, including ongoing medication reviews.
• Identify and assess co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related difficulties, learning disabilities, sleep disorders, and emotional dysregulation.
• Provide clear, compassionate diagnostic feedback to children, young people, and their families. xwzovoh
• Provide clinical leadership to ADHD and Autism pathways within the service.
