Details of the post and on-call commitments across multiple tiers to cover the out-of-hours service.

On-call commitments

• General on call: 1:19 covering the emergency theatre with a resident CT2 or above
• Obstetric on call: 1:13 covering the maternity unit at Heartlands with a ST3 or above
• Solihull EPOC on call: 1:10 with at ST3 or above
• Thoracic on call: 1:8 covering thoracic emergencies at the QE and providing a second pair of hands to Heartlands Hospital
• Good Hope on call: 1:13 covering the emergency theatre with a resident CT1 or above and the maternity unit with a Resident doctor ST3 and above
• There is also an intensivist on call for Heartlands and one for Good Hope
• On-call commitments for these posts are to either the General on-call rota on the Heartlands Emergency theatre (the emergency service sees a large number of general, vascular and urology cases per year). Paediatric cases over the age of 2 are also cared for.
• The Obstetric on-call rota at Heartlands (obstetric special interest and training). xwzovoh
• The Good Hope Hospital is where the on-call consultant covers both Obstetrics and emergency theatres.
