You’ve built your tax career the hard way.

Managed complex portfolios. Advised under pressure. Made tough calls. Stepped in when it counted.

Now you’re at a point where the technical work isn’t the challenge – it’s the structure around you.

Maybe you’re held back by red tape. Maybe your voice isn’t being heard. Or maybe it’s just time for a new seat at a better table.

This Top 10 firm is looking for a Corporate Tax Director to step into a high-impact role leading one of their key regional teams. But this isn’t about keeping a compliance engine running. It’s about driving growth, shaping a strategy, and mentoring the next generation of tax leaders.

Here’s what makes this different:

  • You’ll lead – your team, your region, your portfolio. With autonomy and trust.
  • You’ll shape direction – advising the Partner group on strategy, team development and opportunities.
  • You’ll still do what you love – client relationships, complex advisory, technical thinking — but without the grind of doing it alone.
  • You’ll have the support – national tax infrastructure, deep sector knowledge, and colleagues who actually get it.

What the role looks like:

  • Leading the corporate tax team across the region, from strategy to delivery
  • Managing a high-quality portfolio of clients – largely entrepreneurial, PE-backed and group structures
  • Working closely with Partners on technical and commercial matters
  • Coaching, mentoring and reviewing the next wave of talent
  • Driving technical quality, process improvement, and client satisfaction
  • Supporting business development and strengthening the firm’s local profile

What you’ll need:

  • CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified
  • Current experience at Senior Manager or Director level in a UK tax practice
  • Strong corporate or mixed tax background xwzovoh with advisory exposure
  • Proven leadership and a people-first approach
  • The confidence to influence – both internally and externally

And what’s in it for you?

  • Competitive Director-level package + bonus
  • Real progression potential – not just talk
  • Hybrid working without clock-watching
  • Private medical, life cover, pension, and generous leave
  • A leadership role where your input actually shapes the business

If you’re tired of being boxed in, if you’re ready to lead with autonomy, or if you just want to see what else is out there – this is worth a conversation.
