General Description

We’re the global leader in providing energy solutions that help businesses grow and communities thrive. We work as a team, and we’re proud of the difference we make to customers, local communities, and towards a sustainable future for the world.

If the following job requirements and experience match your skills, please ensure you apply promptly.

We’re looking for a Depot Engineer based in our Widnes depot to help ensure the efficient maintenance and repair of our equipment, contributing to the success of our team and customers.

Why Aggreko? Here are some of the perks and rewards:

  • Generous benefits package (including but not limited to pension plan, bonus scheme, and Life Assurance)
  • Generous holiday entitlement, with the option to ‘buy’ or ‘sell’
  • A focus on continued personal development
  • Paid time off work for volunteering in the community
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme, which helps promote and support a healthy lifestyle

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver repairs and overhauls on time, to specification and budget — plan jobs, control costs, and ensure both individual work orders and overall department targets are met.
  • Enforce safety and quality standards across all activities — follow and promote safe working practices and complete ISO-standard test and evaluation reports for refurbished/repaired generators.
  • Own equipment upkeep and preparedness — perform total maintenance tasks, manage preventative schedules, and ensure required tools are available and in working order.
  • Maintain materials and failure documentation — control stock levels of consumables/parts, record component failures, and produce clear fault and repair reports with recommended corrective actions.
  • Support and grow the team — provide hands-on assistance, mentor and train service crew members, and contribute to continuous improvement to maximise equipment reliability.

You’ll have the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering/mechanical subject (can include apprenticeship).
  • Experience servicing and repairing large engines (generators, HGV, plant equipment, agricultural machinery).
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Good level of PC literacy, including basic MS Office applications.
  • Well-organised and capable of keeping a vehicle to GSCS standards.
