Managing Director, Connecting leading finance professionals within accountancy practices and recruitment businesses.

We are partnering with an internationally backed, multi‑site consumer business to appoint a Finance Director to support the next phase of growth across the UK and Europe.

This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role offering significant exposure to strategy, investment, and long‑term progression beyond finance.

The business operates a proven, scalable multi‑site model, with a long‑established and highly successful international operation overseas, and a fast‑growing UK platform with substantial headroom for expansion.

This role sits at the heart of the business. You will work closely with the Board and Managing Director, providing forward‑looking insight to support growth, performance, and funding decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial analysis and insight to support growth, investment, and marketing decisions
  • Oversee and actively participate in month‑end close, reporting, and performance commentary
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting
  • Lead the full annual budgeting cycle
  • Own budgeting & forecasting
  • Oversee statutory accounts, tax, audit, and regulatory compliance
  • Act as the primary finance lead for banks, lenders, and potential investors
  • Support M&A activity, including acquisitions, financial diligence, and post‑deal integration
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting, data quality, and performance insight
  • Assess opportunities for automation, offshoring, and operational efficiency
  • Present clearly and confidently to senior leadership, board members, and partner groups

Ideal Candidate

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with strong technical foundations
  • Hands‑on finance leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
  • Highly commercial mindset, able to translate financial data into clear, actionable insight
  • Experience working in a multi‑site or complex operating environment
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, boards, lenders, and external advisors
  • Strong planning, forecasting, and scenario modelling capability
  • Confident communicator with the presence to influence and challenge constructively
  • Pragmatic and adaptable, with experience operating in fast‑paced, evolving businesses
  • Exposure to M&A activity and funding processes (desirable)

This is an excellent opportunity and for the right individual, the role offers genuine scope to broaden into a wider enterprise leadership position over time, including potential progression into a Managing Director role. xwzovoh
