We’re seeking a strategic and driven Head of Engineering to take ownership of the engineering agenda across one of the UK’s largest and most advanced FMCG manufacturing groups.
This high-impact leadership role is central to delivering reliability, innovation, and capital efficiency across a national network of modern production sites. You’ll shape the long-term engineering strategy, drive team development, and ensure our assets, systems, and people are operating at world-class standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Capital Investment: Lead the planning, control, and delivery of multi-million-pound CapEx programmes, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to budget.
- Engineering Development: Build and develop a high-performing engineering team – setting clear standards for excellence, capability growth, and technical innovation.
- Reliability Leadership: Implement and embed a robust reliability and asset care strategy to maximise equipment uptime, efficiency, and performance.
- Strategic Direction: Define and deliver the long-term engineering roadmap aligned to business growth and sustainability targets.
- Collaboration & Influence: Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and senior stakeholders to drive business-wide performance improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion a proactive culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all engineering activities.
About You
- Proven senior engineering leader within FMCG, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
- Strong expertise in CapEx project management, reliability engineering, and team development.
- Experienced in leading multi-site engineering functions and delivering measurable performance improvements.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree-qualified in Engineering (Chartered Engineer status desirable).
