Investment Director | Private Equity Corporate Carve-Out Fund

Location: London

Finatal is working with a very exciting private equity fund looking for an experienced investment professional to join the team, focusing on corporate carve-outs, complex transactions, and operational improvement. This is an excellent opportunity to join and lead deals at a private equity fund in a thriving part of the market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the entire deal lifecycle, including:
  • Sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities.
  • Preparing offer letters and managing due diligence.
  • Performing in-house financial due diligence (focused on key value items: Net Debt, Quality of Earnings and Net Working Capital)
  • Leading on commercial due diligence (often focused on expert interviews)
  • Ownership of the deal financial model.
  • Managing advisor relationships during the transaction process.
  • Preparing for and presenting to the investment committee.
  • Supporting and driving debt finance process, particularly asset-based lending.
  • Supporting and driving the legal process during acquisitions (share purchase agreements or asset purchase agreements, transitional services agreements, material services agreements and ancillary documents).
  • Act as a key contact for portfolio companies, with potential opportunities to serve as a board director or observer.
  • Opportunity to provide strategic support to management teams, influencing value creation initiatives.

Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent the fund to advisors, sellers, and management teams, demonstrating professionalism and the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside portfolio companies, to achieve shared goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of private equity principal investing experience, ideally in a firm exposed to special situations and/or corporate carve-outs.
  • Minimum of 3–4+ years of experience in financial due diligence advisory for a high quality firm.
  • Some experience with corporate carve-outs either during financial due diligence or private equity experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial modelling, due diligence, and deal management skills.
