Home based with travel to depot in Hull, Lincolnshire, Manchester, Warrington , Birmingham , Hinkley

The purpose of this job is to:

  • Provide discipline technical expertise to operational and delivery teams.
  • Ensure new assets or modifications to existing assets are in compliance with the company’s standards.
  • Develop discipline internal engineering standards, procedures, best practice and strategies
  • Influence external standards to align with the company’s forward agenda
  • Provide engineering knowledge to support key recommendations relating to strategic engineering decision making.
  • Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance is proactively met
  • Assess asset risks and the effectiveness of controls and mitigations
  • Guide developing engineers, providing technical mentoring and management.

Within the control and instrumentation specialism:

  • Provide a comprehensive knowledge and support for meeting statutory and regulatory obligations. (notably Electricity at Work, Dangerous Substances & Explosive Atmospheres, Equipment & Protective Systems)
  • Leads in influencing and shaping the statutory, regulatory and company standards framework with respect to engineering and ensures all required statutory documents are in place.
  • Provide advice and sign off on risk assessments and hazard mitigations plans for discipline, including LOPA and SIL.
  • Participates in incident investigations as required. xwzovoh Ensure that the learning from incident reviews and investigations are communicated with action plans delivered.
