General Description

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to work as part of the analytical team assisting in processes to help deliver an efficient analytical service to customers.

This role delivers in line with all aspects of safety, quality and environmental standards within the team.

The role is based at Westlakes Science Park, Whitehaven, Cumbria and is a full time position 37 hours.

£20ph Umbrella or £15ph PAYE Candidates can start with BPSS security clearance should higher level clearance be needed and being undertaken.

You should be British Citizens and passport holders, and not have worked outside the UK during the past 5 years.

Key Responsibilities: Assist in the delivery of assigned programmes of work to support the overall delivery of analytical results to time and quality.

Comply with the laboratory quality management systems to support accreditation.

Comply with processes and procedures to enable safe working practices.

Assist the analytical team to provide a consistent and efficient level of service.

Assist in the waste management of samples and other consumables.

Carry out routine Laboratory cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Take responsibility for personal continued development.

Comply with legislation and company policies and procedures to ensure appropriate standards are met.

Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of efficient operational practices to minimise wastage (financial and material). xwzovoh

Essential Experience/Qualifications/Skills: Science GCSEs at grade A to C or equivalent Experience in analytical chemistry (preferred but not essential) Good organisational skills, high attention to detail Awareness of conventional and radiological safety IT literate Ability to work as part of a team Minimum level of Qualifications to be verified (
