An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive, 0.8PA consultant psychiatrist post in the Lewisham Perinatal Community Mental Health Service.

The successful candidate will work with other members of the specialist Lewisham perinatal service team to deliver high quality, safe, evidence‑based care and to support service innovations, quality improvements and clinical research in perinatal psychiatry within SLaM, sharing strong clinical leadership within the team.

Main duties of the job

The consultant will provide clinical leadership and consultant input into the Lewisham Perinatal Team, assess patients, devise treatment plans, deliver evidence‑based care, support service innovations, participate in clinical governance, and supervise junior staff. The post holder will also contribute to strategic aims of Perinatal Community Services.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification

  • Medical degree (MBBS/MBChB, equivalent)
  • Fellowship or specialist training in psychiatry, with specific experience in perinatal or maternity psychiatry preferred.
  • Evidence of clinical excellence, research participation, and teaching experience. xwzovoh
