Vacancy Overview

Part‑time (6 sessions) Consultant Psychiatrist – 0‑18 CAMHS Team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, based at Mill Street Centre, Crewe, Central Cheshire.

Role will work with a 0.6 WTE consultant and two full‑time Specialty Doctors. Shortlisting starts 12/02/2026; interviews 02/03/2026.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, appraise and supervise junior medical staff in line with Trust policy, including competency assessment under the Modernising Medical Careers framework.
  • Perform administrative duties associated with patient care.
  • Record clinical activity accurately and submit to the Information Department.
  • Participate in service and business planning at local and whole mental health service level.
  • Take part in annual consultant appraisal.
  • Attend academic programme and CPD seminars.
  • Maintain professional registration (GMC) and Mental Health Act 12(2) approval, following conduct codes.
  • Engage annually in job‑plan review with clinical manager and other managers to develop the post in line with service modernisation.
  • Collaborate with managers and colleagues to ensure efficient service operation and contribute to medical management.

Employment Details

Recruitment will commence on a fixed start date each month under the Prepare to Care induction programme. New entrants commence at the minimum salary for the grade. A DBS check is required; applicants pay the fee which is deducted from salary following appointment.
