General Description

We have an exceptional opportunity to join a prestigious static site in the heart of London Bridge, offering Monday to Friday working hours.

Purpose: Provision of all-round engineering support, maintaining the building infrastructure.

Have a detailed understanding of all new or current Building Services systems and contingency procedures within the buildings, and complying with the Health & Safety/building codes of practice.

It is the Contract Supervisors role to act as a co-ordination point for the day-to-day activities on site between the site team, specialist service partners and on-going project works.

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all activities within the building are undertaken with a professional and conscientious outlook with regards to the quality of work and Health & Safety.

The Engineering Supervisor will ensure that there are excellent standards of response to plant failures, completion of assigned work and ensure any abnormal operating conditions and housekeeping issues are dealt with proficiently.

The individual should have a very good track record and should be capable of running the operation whilst on duty including their respective site engineers.

This is also a hands on role and therefore must have hands on experience of HVAC maintenance.

The Engineering Supervisor should come from an apprenticeship, ONC / BTEC or equivalent and have a current Low Voltage Qualification.

Ideally they will have been exposed to the Critical Services Environment with experience of emergency procedures and systems, issuing permits, sub-contractor control, labour control, and completion of PPM’s.

The hours of work are a 40hr week working between 07:00 18.00 Duties and Responsibilities: Close liaison and working relationship with the Account Manager Operate all systems within the buildings in a competent, effective and efficient manner Act as the Duty Authorised Person (LV) whilst on duty Issue relevant site Permits as part of the Safe System of Work Completion of PPM and reactive tasks and update the system.

Ensure that daily tours are completed and repair or report any defects found via the Landlord helpdesk Identification of materials required to be ordered in a timely manner and completion of the internal Materials Request Form (MRF1) Maintain and supervise effective site handovers including critical plant status, plant isolations, issues arising, ongoing works, special task requests, standard of housekeeping Comply with both statutory and company health, safety and environmental regulations and policies.

Timely implementation and recording of statutory inspections including accurate recording of fire and water hygiene records Control of 3rd party contractors including monitoring of work performance and standards, including internal auditing where applicable in conjunction with the Contracts Manager Ensure that Specialist Service Provider worksheets are signed off that quality of work is inspected and recommendations are escalated to the Contracts Manager Take responsibility for escalating critical incidents and producing and submitting incident reports within the prescribed timescales in conjunction with both the Site / Account Manager.

The Engineering Supervisor will ensure that Plant areas, workshops, stores, changing/rest areas etc.

The Engineering Supervisor will be expected to operate and trouble shoot all building systems but not be limited to the following: Building Management Systems and electrical monitoring Control system Air handling, conditioning and terminal units
– VAV and CRAC Gas fired humidification Domestic water services Fire prevention and detection systems Sprinklers and wet risers Fire alarm and voice alarm VESDA Fire suppression Variable speed drives Generators, load banks and controls AC, DC single phase and three phase motors UPS systems, batteries, static switches and associated controls Emergency lighting Low voltage switch panels and associated breaker Skills: Approved apprenticeship or appropriate experience within Building Services Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with staff and Customers at all levels Formal qualification in electrical, mechanical or building services engineering Experience as an end user of a Building Management Systems Demonstrable experience of managing contractors and supervising staff Intermediate computer literacy using Windows Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with experience of report writing Qualifications: 18th Edition IEE: Wiring & Installation Previously LV Authorised Person C&G 236 Parts 1 and 2 or mechanical equivalent C&G 2391
