Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support Transmission & Distribution projects across Scotland. The role will involve providing commercial support to project delivery teams, ensuring effective cost control, accurate reporting, and contract administration under NEC forms of contract.

This is a contract opportunity suited to a QS with strong utilities or infrastructure experience who is comfortable working within established commercial frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial support to live Transmission & Distribution projects
  • Assist in the administration of NEC contracts, including change control and compensation events
  • Prepare and review applications for payment
  • Support cost forecasting, budgets, and cost/value reporting
  • Assist with subcontract procurement and subcontract management
  • Identify and escalate commercial risks and opportunities
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial leads
  • Ensure compliance with commercial processes and governance

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Background in utilities, energy, or infrastructure xwzovoh projects
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Good commercial awareness and cost control capability
  • Ability to work effectively within a project team environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable

  • Transmission & Distribution project experience
  • Experience working on UK utilities frameworks
  • Progress toward or interest in professional qualification (RICS or equivalent)
